The pricing area within EnergySteward.com is where price index
basket information is stored. These price baskets can be assigned to
various price/cost formulas within contracts and to various meters/wells
on these contracts. In many situations, contracts are written with
price/cost formulas that rely on averaging of price indices (simple
and/or weighted averages, with or without individual price index
offsets). EnergySteward.com provides for setting up
these price index baskets with appropriate averaging and offsets. The following
characterizes some of the options available within the EnergySteward.com
pricing 'Baskets...' area:
- An unlimited number of price index baskets can be setup.
- * Price Index Baskets maintain a status history, reflecting (by date)
the various changes in the status of any given price index basket.
- * Price Index Baskets can be setup for all types of energy related
'Products' (Oil, Gas, etc.).
- * Price Index Baskets can have an unlimited number of individual
price indices comprising them. These individual price indices
can have their own respective offsets (plus or minus) and weighting
(for weighted baskets).
- Price Index Baskets can be incorporated in contract price/cost
formulas, with ability to lookup contracts by their reference to an
individual price index basket, etc.
- Price Index Basket values are automatically updated when underlying
price index values (within the basket) are updated.
* These items can all be defined in
the pricing configuration area within
EnergySteward.com.
